A Talking Parrot — That was the style of defining me.
Little did I know that my profession would be to teach Communication on a Mass scale.
Thought of growing up as a Lawyer or an Investigative Officer, but finally left aside a Tata Steel PR and Corporate Division job and switched into the teaching profession. It demanded a lot of interactions, academic development, recognizing aspirants and solving their queries. My love for teaching was embedded deep within and was awaiting a spark. Stepping into Tata Steel on a daily routine, dampened my spirits gradually and the urge for identifying myself churned. One morning broke free from this employee welfare corporate and plunged into the world of education. The journey began….
Debabani Mukherjee is a Media Educator and Head of Department of Media Science Department, Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development, Kolkata and have been sharing knowledge with Media aspirants and professionals for over two decades. A Masters in Mass Communication and Journalism from Calcutta University, Debabani has associated herself with some of the renowned colleges across Kolkata, she was also attached for a period of two years with Symbiosis Institute of Media and Communication Pune. During her professional career, she has worked in these Organizations and Universities in several capacities as Head of the Department, Deputy Director, Examination Coordinator, Mentor, National Seminar Coordinator, and Departmental admission Nodal Head.
Debabani has qualified for the College Service Commission examinations in her core subject and has also completed two Faculty Development Programme on Entrepreneurship and Education. She has attended National and International Conferences where and have three publications to her credit.
With so many years in the Education Industry and in Corporate, she has now grown as a Teacher Trainer and has travelled across Ranchi Jharkhand and Jamshedpur training scores of teachers associated with different schools and colleges. Debabani is a voracious reader and pens short stories. She is a singer and trained Bharatnatyam dancer from Kalamandalam. As a performance artist stage is her love and she continues to enact in several plays.
